At DGSM Architecture in Bristol we pride ourselves on making the consultation and design process as straight forward as possible, offering our services for competitive prices. The two main steps of ‘Concept' and 'Development' are our preferred stages of working. Depending on where you are with your project or projects (small or medium scaled; privately owned residential or commercial, near to us and further afield), we can provide services for these stages; our project guide is available to download at the bottom of this page, which includes more guidance. Our services are summarised in the list below (in process order), which are provided appropriately depending on your project type and situation. We have the potential to see a project through from start (initial concept) to finish (completion of construction) in line with the following stages:
1. Architectural consultation
2. Architectural design
3. Spatial design
4. Spatial visualisations
5. Planning drawings
6. Planning application submission
7. Arranging structural engineering
8. Building regulations
9. Construction drawings and inspection
In addition to working with other typical structural systems such as masonry, steel, reinforced concrete etc; we also offer Timber Frame Design (designed to be on-site construction, pre-fabrication or Structural Insulated Panels, otherwise known as SIPs).

Concept:
Helping you design the best fit for your site within the parameters of your design brief, providing you with different options that have the potential to be developed into a more substantial design.
Development:
Once a feasible option has been decided upon, a developed design will allow you to see your project come to life.
This may involve reviewing visualisations of a proposal, showcasing external and internal spatial qualities, activity and a developed 3D model which will form the basis for any drawings that may be used for permitted development, or for a full planning application, which we can submit on your behalf.
We will do our utmost to increase your chances of achieving planning permission during planning applications, however as with all projects the ultimate decision on this will be decided by the planning department of your local authority.
We continue to maintain our high standards of attention to detail into the later stages of projects as well, working towards getting your project or projects built in the most efficient way.

If you are unsure of what stages your project may be required to go through, our guide (below, which you can click to download) offers generic guidance of what your project may entail before construction to adhere to legal frameworks. This guide is only an approximation and there may be other stages that your project or projects are required to go through before construction:
